The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Patricia Parete can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Kathleen Hiniker
Condolence: Patty convinced me I could ride a harley - she could be pretty convincing that one. I don't have the sportster any more but her influence lives within me in so many ways. I have so many wonderful memories of our shenanigans in both Buffalo and Minneapolis. So many reminders of you on a daily basis. So grateful to have been a part of your life. Be at peace now, Patty.

Condolence: Patty, may you rest in peace and enjoy your newfound freedom. I picture you in heaven riding your Harley and running free...doing all the things that you enjoyed and haven't been able to do since this terrible tragedy. You will never be forgotten and will always be loved and missed. My deepest sympathy to Patty's family and friends and to all the special people who cared for Patty in her time of need.

Condolence: While I did not know Oficer Parete personally, I was stunned and saddened when she was shot and wounded so greviously, and have followed her story since. She was a brave and dedicated police officer, and an amazing human being. I am grateful for her service. Her sacrifice has the good effect of making me mindful of what all our poloce officers put on the line daily. It also makes me mindful of what their partners and families and friends live with and support. My profound sympathy to all of them, and especially to Polly Strait for caring for her partner for 7 dedicated years. Peace to all of you.

Condolence: Our deep love and respect goes with this fine officer. She is a part of history that we hope will not be forgotten. The rights of LGBT families in this city owe a debt to Officer and just plain Patty both. May the family be comforted, may she rest in grace and peace. May we never forget the sacrifice our officers make every day for us and this city.
